I am 2+ weeks post op from my hysterectomy. I can say I am feeling pretty damn good! Doc said that I look good and healing well for being 2 weeks out. Gave me the details of my surgery. Everything is gone by my ovaries, so I get to go through a natural menopause (this is good since I am only 38).
He also told me about the pathology on my uterus. They didn’t find anything bad, though I did have some fibroids (we knew about those), but they also found that I had no lining to my uterus (meaning the ablation I had done in 2012 worked). The problems I was having was coming from Adenomyosis. This is similar to endometriosis where the lining of the uterus travels through the body causing pain. Adenomyosis is where the lining of the uterus grows inside the muscle of the uterus instead of inside the cavity.
One of the risk factors is prior uterine surgery. If you (or someone you know) has had a surgery like a c-section or ablation or something else and are having severe pains like I did…make sure you show them this so they can ask their doctor about it!
Other than all that, I am doing well. Hope to stay doing well! I will be cleared to resume regular activities in November with my 6week check up even though I am pretty much doing what I want to do now.
Life is, finally, good!
