Being a SAHM and therefore only have one income, we tend to be hard up for money to spend on growing children’s clothing. Our solution is the same solution millions of moms have used for centuries. Hand-me-downs. Babyhead gets new clothes, Podling gets to wear them later (also a perk of having them 3yrs apart!) However, since my girl is a girlie girl I felt the need to girl up some of Babyhead’s pants for her. She thinks it’s funny to wear Brother’s shirts, but for some reason she is resistant to the pants. This is where fabric paint comes in!
The great thing about kids is that they love your art, no matter how bad it is. 🙂 She can’t wait for them to be ready to wear and was even wanting to paint monster trucks on Babyhead’s pants. I had to tell her that no, we won’t be painting Brother’s pants. Only the ones she will be wearing. This isn’t to say Podling never gets new clothes, she does mainly because she is such a girlie girl. She likes pink and sparkly and all the other girlie girl stuff, so we buy clothes for her on occasion…it just helps when we can hand -me down the winter stuff.
