Women are Beautiful

I was over at Shapely Prose and read the post about the Uncovered Photography Project. It is basically pictures of women in NYC topless. Now, for any men reading this, it isn’t about sexuality…it is simply about women being free and comfortable in their bodies.

The women are doing every day things, eating at a cafe, hanging out at the park (no pun intended!)…just everyday women doing everyday things. There are also commentaries with some of the women about how they felt at that time or stories they wanted to share (like the BC survivor whose date said he couldn’t go out with her because she didn’t have perfect breasts).

There is one story though between two women in one picture about how they feel that if men were just exposed to breasts more often in non-sexual ways, then maybe it wouldn’t be such a big deal to them…and I have to agree.

Anyway, here’s to all the women who took part! I couldn’t be that brave myself (some of them were in the SNOW for crying out loud!), but I am glad there are plenty of women of all sizes that were.
